Intent

At John Shelton Primary our music intent is to foster a deep appreciation and understanding of music, enabling pupils to develop their musical skills, knowledge and understanding. We will provide a broad and balanced music curriculum that engages and inspires pupils. Children will be taught to sing with confidence and control whilst demonstrating a clear enjoyment. Creativity, self-expression and personal development will be encouraged through music whilst promoting a lifelong interest in different musical genres. We will develop pupils' instrumental skills, enabling them to participate confidently in musical performances.
